Deborah was well into her 60s (we’ll know her age more exactly when we’ve seen her teeth). I first met her in 1973 and have followed her life for more than 40 years
It's always a bit sad finding pictures of elephants who have died, but this is one of our favorite images of one of our grand old ladies. Taken three months before she died of old age at 74, we love this picture of Deborah
