Lakshmi and her calf have been separated from other elephants and doctors are monitoring their health. News Dasara elephant Lakshmi gives birth to a male calf. This is the second time a Dasara elephant has given birth at Mysore Palace. Mysuru Dasara will be held between September 26 and October 5. Lakshmi, one of the 14 elephants which have been brought to Mysuru for Dasara celebrations, gave birth a male calf on Tuesday night. The veterinary doctors have said that both the mother and the calf are healthy and doing well.
