Buffy is an (approximately) 16 - 18 year old female African elephant. She gives rides to children as she travels withour petting zoo. Buffy is generally more "emotional" and "temperamental" that our male African elephant, Butch....she WILL have your attention if she wants it. She is not destructive, but determinedly "playful" if she feels she is being ignored. She will throw hay at her keeper or try and untie her rope or the ropes on the animal tents if she can get to them if she wants attention. Buffy can also be the antagonist in "play" with Butch - she has pushed him through the electric fence several times - until she learned that when he touched the wire, she would get a jolt as well - and we have since separated them.
