2013-08-21: 46-year-old Durga Parameshwari was shifted to Matthigod camp from Pilikula Biological Park in Mangalore on Sunday.

At the same time, a weaning process began to separate Durga�s 36-month-old calf Radha, which was sent to K Gudi Camp in BR Tiger Reserve where two other elephants, Srirama and Gajendra, are camping.

After participating in the Dasara festivities, Durga Parameshwari will be shifted to K Gudi camp. Calves (12-18 months) will be named after separating them from the mothers.

2014-10: The elephant rides in Dr Shivarama Karanth Biological Park has been discontinued after elephants Prashanth and Durgaparameshwari were sent to Hunsur elephant camp.
