2001: According to the Tan Phu Protective Forest Management Board, the elephant had sustained an injury to its foot and had been left behind by its herd that moved on to Buon Don Forest in the Central Highland province of Dak Lak.

2011: Found hacked to death with its tusk cut. It was the ninth elephant to be killed in the province since 2009.

2011-12-28: "Police in Dong Nai Province said they had found 2 bullet tips in the body of the wild elephant that was killed 5 days ago."

2013-10-26: Police in the southern province of Dong Nai have arrested five people on suspicion of killing a wild elephant in 2011 with military weapons, and for illegally trading and keeping the rare animals.
