2019-09-04: Elephant Masa has died after 47 years at Howletts Wild Animal Park. Masa, who is estimated to be at least 50 years old, was sadly put to sleep after falling ill early yesterday morning (September 4). She first moved to the zoo in Bekesbourne, near Canterbury, from Africa in 1972 and was the leader of the Herd at the time of her death.
