It comprises of a total area of 7864 hectares and a fauna of 44 species of mammals and 250 species of birds. The sanctuary has five species of primates. Notable fauna include Clouded Leopard, Elephant, Wild Dog, Hoolock Gibbon, Sambar and Barking Deer among mammals; and Grater Adjutant Stork, Lesser Adjutant Stork, Kahlij Pheasant, Oriental pied Hornbill, Barn Owl, White Rumped Vultures and Hill Mynah among birds.
