Born 1951 in Switzerland , son of director Rolf Knie Sr. and director Tina Knie .

In 1993 Louis Knie Sr. bought the Circus Althoff-Jacobi from Elfi Althoff-Jacobi, and renamed the circus to Circus Louis Knie.
