Comments / pictures 1976: 1976: There was a brief flush of green in April and May and then a serious drought set in. It was during the short period of rain. that Amy gave birth to a male calf. I found her with the new calf on March 30, 1976. Both Amy and Alison's calves died in September 1976. Amy’s four-year-old calf, Audrey, left the family completely for several weeks at the height of the drought. It seemed that she didn’t have the energy to follow the family out to the woodlands in the evenings. Both Amy and Alison's calves died in September 1976.
