Mae is a prefix name, used in Burma, Laos and Thailand for female elephants, often for females who had babies. (Mae means mother)

Mae Kham Noi used to work in logging industry near border between Thailand and Mynmar. She grew up at the backcountry, where it is far from civilization,with Karen family.
