In May 1993, Charlie Gray imported the full sisters Phoebe and pregnant Lilly together from Ramat Gan, selling them to African Lion Safari the next day. In November 1993 at six years of age, Phoebe miscarried a calf after being bred by her father. Bred in June 2007 with the zoo's bull Coco, Phoebe had her third male calf in March 2009. During her pregnancy, she gained about 750 pounds. 2018: pregnant again, due in mid-to-late December: "The zoo said Phoebe was artificially inseminated with sperm from fellow zoo elephant Hank as well as a male from another zoo and had the opportunity to breed naturally with Hank. So officials indicated the father isn't known yet and will be determined after birth with a DNA test." 2021-03-03: pregnant again, Phoebe is in the third trimester of her Pregnancy and will likely give birth to her calf in mid-to late June.
