The fourth calf died in 2023. Ryu, Lisas calf, died in February from an EEHV infection. Ryu, also two years old at the time, had not previously shown any symptoms of illness.

Ryu suddenly fell while searching for food in the forest. An organ examination revealed an EEHV infection.
