Comments / pictures

Bought from Mr Hall by citizen of Toledo, Mr Sam Davis, and given to Toledo Zoo. Shortly after arrival babe killed two elephant keepers:

1914-06-14: Killed Michael Raddatz

After this the bull was only worked by the Zoo director Lou Scherer, who kept the bull in free contact for over 31 years.

Height: 3,20 meter, weight: 5,5 tons, for many years Babe was the largest asian elephant in Northamerica.
