For more than three decades she was accompanied by Kuky, another African elephant with whom she arrived in Buenos Aires from Kruger National Park, South Africa, in May 1993. She was her "sister." Although there is no precise date of birth, specialists estimate that both animals were born in 1990. In fact, they arrived in the country under other names. They were called Araceli and Lucila . This was decided in a survey after the purchase of both specimens by the company Paseo Alcorta, which donated them to the Buenos Aires zoo.
