Shenka

Shenka was born wild 1959 at Thailand unspecified location.

1993: Shenka was very sick and weak, and was brought to Zoo Erfurt after three weeks when he refused to eat.


After getting daily infusions with one liter, 3 times/day, he became better.

After three weeks care, he ate the first Banana.

Later he was returned to the owner, where he died 14 years later. Before his death, he was used in the film "Gladiator", and twice his semen, was unsuccesfully used for insemination of two female elephants.
