Fritz joined the Barnum and Bailey Circus during its final year of its five year European Tour. Eighteen elephants, ten large and eight younger, were under the supervision of George Conklin, George Beattie and George Bates. In total, six elephants died during the tour and none of the four males displayed returned to the United States.

Around 30 years old in the 1897. He was heavier than Jumbo and about 10, 4 tall, the shows tallest at that time.

1902: He went for Bates, his keeper, in Tours, and was hung on Baileys orders on 11th June 1902.
