Affie died suddenly and unexpectedly after going to the ground and failed attempts to assist her. According to the Brookfield Zoo, she lived there "for 30 years and, at nearly 40, was the fifth oldest African elephant in an accredited North American zoo".
Affie weighed approximately 10,400 pounds
