According to the Caldwell Zoo, Rolinda was humanely euthanized on May 28 after she was discovered down in her exhibit. Rolinda was the African Elephant Matriarch and at 46 years old was the Zoo's oldest resident. Rolinda was the first African elephant at the Caldwell Zoo. She arrived at the zoo on June 22, 1978, and was a companion to Kimbo, an Asian elephant.
