Kaveri Raja is an Indian Elephant of 32 years and was donated by the Indian government to the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy when he was around 22 years old.

In January 2011 Kaveri Raja tripped walking down a hill while carrying food from the forest for the other Temple of the Tooth elephants . Weighing over 4.7 tons, he dislocated his right front leg and came to MEF for treatment.
