Most famous of those who lived at the house was Daisy Greville, Countess of Warwick, who was born Frances Evelyn Maynard at Easton Lodge in 1861 and inherited the estate when just four years old. She became a socialite and mistress to King Edward VII, and continued to live at Easton Lodge with her husband, the 5th Earl of Warwick after her marriage.

Summer of August 1902 a very special train pulled into Dunmow Station with some unusual guests aboard. Alongside the Earl and Countess of Warwick, their horses, grooms and motor cars, a number of pets also followed, including a Marmoset Monkey and a rather special elephant, named Kim.

Information from Easton Lodge reported that the Countess described Kim as a "very attractive and manageable" animal who would trot after her everywhere.

When Kim had to be taken back to Warwick one year later, in January 1903, it was reported he had a box to himself on the train.

As the elephant grew, the countess became worried he would become dangerous as a pet and found a new home for him in Royal Leamington Spa with a retired elephant trainer Sam Lockhart.

A statue of an elephant now stands in Easton Lodge in memory of Kim and his funny ways around the gardens.
