Annabel (Tessa) was born wild 1964.
On the 1st of March, Annabel fell into the dry Moat surrounding the exhibit onto her side. After several attempts to help, zoo staff brought in a crane to lift her out. Unable to stand and in shock, the decision was made to euthanize the zoo's oldest elephant.
