PlaceMuang Chiang Mai

The new park, established in May 2003, is set in Mae Taeng valley, Chiang Mai province, some 60km from the city, and has provided a sanctuary for distressed elephants from all over Thailand. Set in a natural valley, bordered by a river, and surrounded by forested mountains the area offers a timeless glimpse of rural life.

The foundation has also initiated projects like Jumbo express and elephant heaven:
Jumbo Express is an outreach program which provides emergency medical treatment to elephants working in remote areas and builds ties with rural communities.
Located on a remote mountaintop, Elephant Haven is a jungle retreat regularly visited by our elephants. Far from human encroachment, a visit to the Haven allows our elephants to relax in their natural environment

Founded in 1996 by Sangduen Lek Chailert, who was named Asian Hero of the Year by Time magazine in 2005.
