Tay Nguyen Biological Ecology Museum, located at 116 Xô Viết Nghệ Tĩnh, Phường 7, in Da Lat, Vietnam , was founded in 1975, opened for public in 1990.


Comments / picturesThe Museum of Biology and Tay Nguyen Biological Institute in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, is located on the top of Tung Lam hill 1,548 m high, in the middle of the pine forest, nearly 10 km from the center of Da Lat city on the way to Suoi Vang. Built in 1950, the forerunner of the Museum house is the Academy of the Catholic Church, Vietnam’s Redemptorist monastery but has been used for Research after 1975. .

The museum\'s outstanding collection includes 58 Species of animals, including 38 rare Species included in Vietnam’s Red Book.

The collection of animals in the Central Highlands is displayed at the Museum with 7 galleries and 6 storage rooms including 195 bone samples of 45 animal Species, 386 mammal samples of 58 Species, 245 bird samples of 95 Species, 43 Amphibian reptilian samples of 32 Species, 36 specimens of domestic animals of 22 Species, more than 300 samples of insects belonging to 10 insect orders of common scientific and economic significance in the Central Highlands. In addition, the Museum of Biology also displays 245 large mushroom samples of 240 Species in Lam Dong pine forest area.
