Comments / pictures

Cirque d´Hiver is located in the worlds oldest extant circus building in Paris.

1934: bought by the Bouglione brothers (Alexandre, 1900-1954; Joseph, 1904-1987; Firmin, 1905-1980; Sampion, 1910-1967)

1950: over 70 elephants (Gröning, Sallers:Elephants: A Cultural and Natural History)

2018: The Bouglione project to go on tour again two years ago appears to be no longer financially sustainable and is therefore loss-making. Bouglione has already stopped in March and will henceforth be confined to Cirque d'Hiver in Paris, in a permanent circus building.
