In 1854, François Loisset and his wife, Caroline Loyo, had revived the Cirque Loisset, which toured the traditional Loisset territory with uneven success, and was in financial trouble when François Loisset died in 1878 in Stockholm. Caroline Loyo shut down the company, and the famed Cirque Loisset disappeared forever. Sadly, when the great equestrienne died in Paris in 1892, she was practically forgotten and destitute
