Houcke was born * 1878-10-11 in Hazebrouck France dead 1973 , in France , son of artist Eugene Houcke and artist Fanny Tourniaire

⚭ Married to Marcelle Rancy born 1894 .

In Kristiana (Oslo), Jean Houcke met Louise Thurmann Ihlen, the daughter of a Norwegian lawyer. They married in Berlin in 1903 and had a son, Eugène Victor Hippolyte Léonard , nicknamed Dutis , on July 28, 1904, in Copenhagen. A few years later, in 1907, Jean and Louise divorced.

When the Nouveau Cirque reopened in Paris on September 9, 1906, Jean Houcke was appointed artistic director.
