1935: he bought a six year old elephant from Firma Ruhe, her name... Nelly

1956: In 1956 she was transferred to Moscow, because she had bad moods.

The next elephant was bought from Firma Carl Hagenbeck, two years old and was called... Moni (EEP says Mony). After learning her the trics, Josefs daughter Monique presented her. Her specialties: Counting, making music and smoking! She was sold to a Belgian Zoo! (Sorry no date, but is was after 1966)
