2020-12-02: After 36 years at Dublin Zoo, its operations manager and elephant expert Gerry Creighton is leaving the zoo where he has been a keeper since the age of 15. The zoo confirmed Tuesday night that Mr Creighton was planning to work with zoos across the world as a specialist elephant care consultant. Mr Creighton is part of a family dynasty of zookeepers. His father, Gerry Creighton Sr., worked there for 51 years before retiring, and his brother James Creighton is also employed as a keeper.
