Circus Krone has since 1919 their winterquarters in Munich, where the elephants are stabled from middle of Novembr until beginning of April when the tour around Germany begins. This is the only permanent circus building in the German speaking area of Europe built 1919, destroyed during worldwar II and rebuilt 1945, and then again rebuilt 1967 to be the most modern circus facilities in Europe.
Until 1998 the elephants were walked between the circus and the railway station and transported with train, but are now transported with trailers.
The elephants are washed with high injection at least once a day on tour twice, rather uncommon on European circuses, a system introduced by the American elephant trainer Patrizia Zerbini who was in charge of the elephants after the retirement of Banda Vidane, son of the Ceylonese mahout Epi Vidane, famous for the headhanging trick. in 1996. Patrizia Zerbini stayed until 1999 when she returned to her elephant farm Two Tail Farm in USA.
