Comments / picturesLorenzo Casanova (-1870) was an animal dealer and had a mobile menagerie and a monkey theater in St. Petersburg.

Around 1862 he brought an African elephant from Egyptian Sudan to Europe. The elephant was sold to Menagerie Gottlieb Kreutzberg in Germany.

From 1864 Casanova partnered with Carl Hagenbeck in Hamburg, Germany.
