Wonderland City, located at Tamarama, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia , was founded in 1906. Wonderland City closed down in 1911.


Comments / picturesWonderland City was an amusement park located at Tamarama, on Wonderland Avenue near the point at which it joins Fletcher Street, in Sydney, Australia. The 20-acre outdoor entertainment park Tamarama, a beachside suburb of Sydney, was founded in 1st December 1906 by theatrical entrepreneur William Anderson, who bought the land from Mrs Margaret J. Lachaume.

The land was formerly occupied by The Royal Aquarium and Pleasure Grounds (Bondi Aquarium).

Wonderland City closed in 1911.

In 1920, the NSW Government bought the area and proclaimed it Tamarama Park. There is still a Wonderland Avenue at Tamarama.
