1926: After resigning from the directorship of the Giardino Zoologico in Rome in 1926 (probably after a lethal incident of the German zookeeper Oettershagen with a tiger) ,
Dr Knottnerus-Meyer maintained close contacts with Prince Francesco Chigi della Rovere (who was the President of the Zoo in 1911). He provided some papers for Italian nature journals, this one being the last one published on Rassegna Faunistica in 1934. At the end of the paper the death of Knottnerus-Meyer is announced.
