Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (Six Flags Marine World), located at 1001 Fairgrounds Dr, in Vallejo, in United States, was founded in 1985 and the first elephant arrived in 1985.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is the only combination wildlife park, theme park and oceanarium in the world. Previously known as Six Flags Marine World, this re-branded 136-acre theme park features more than 50 rides, shows and animal attractions in three themed areas. It began as a nonprofit animal park Marine World in Redwood City, California in 1968. In 1985 the park relocated about 55 miles away to Vallejo, California and thought the move necessitated a name change to Marine World Africa USA. The old location became known as Redwood Shores. In 1999, Marine World was re-branded and re-named Six Flags Marine World. In 2007, the park was again renamed Six Flags Discovery Kingdom to better represent the offerings at the park.
