Louis Roth was called the "world's greatest wild animal trainer" by Louis Goebel, the creator of Jungleland USA. He married Mable Stark on May 17, 1915, in Boise, Idaho. They divorced in Portland, in 1920.

  • Cage cleaner at the Louis Ruhe Wild Animal Farm at Woodside, Long Island.
  • Worked on Coney Island for Frank Bostock, the famous exhibitor of wild animals, and Herman Weeden, Bostock's chief trainer.
  • Employed as an animal trainer at the Bartell Wild Animal Farm in Bellevue, New Jersey.
  • 1915: Menagerie Superintendent at Al. G. Barnes Circus
  • 1921: Howes Great London Circus, where he had a young Clyde Beatty as a cage boy and assistant trainer.
  • 1927: Al. G. Barnes Circus
