Herling was born * 1934 in Vienna Austria .

She met the Italian animal trainer Orlando Orfei while performing with doves at Moulin Rouge, in Paris, France. They married and had two twins, Isabella and Gabriela Orfei, Alberto Orfei, Viviane Orfei, Mario Orfei, and Maurizia Orfei. Their circus closed down in Brazil in 2006.
