In 2003, Jambi was attacked by the the Timbo and fell into the exhibit's dry moat. Taking an injury to the lumbar region, she later developed arthritis, both contributing to her death in 2009.

2017:Mysuru zoo has lost yet another prized animal from its collection. A male African elephant, Timbo, aged about 47, died in the early hours of Tuesday.

This elephant had been received from a German Zoo in 1976.

Timbo, one of the star attractions at the zoo, thanks to its height and grace, was suffering from chronic arthritis.
