She suffered from severe abscesses on her back and hips, caused by blows she recieved from the herd leader Atari and Yossi the male.
While the injuries were open, it was possible to disinfect them, but once closed a severe swelling occured in the hip area.
They decided to tranquilize her in order to treat and drain the injuries.
She was tranquilized and went down on her right side.
After 16 minutes they completed the incision, treatment and draining of the wounds.
During this entire time her breathing was regular.
But half a minute after injection of the antidote Sophie, 13 years old, died.
The cause was not clear.
