Comments / pictures

Probably born in Sumatra. She walked in 1933 with a military Mahout 500 kilometers through the forests of Atjeh (Sumatra) to a harbor were she was shipped to Holland.

In Arnhem, Isah was kept together with the young bull Willy. Keepers were unable to successfully introduce the two, therefore Isah was transferred the next month to Tilburg. There her name was changed to Isjah.
