Document updated2013-05-17: death location

Plai is a prefix name, orginally a Mon word, meaning youthful male or a strong man, today used in Thailand for male elephants with tusks.

Owner: Wanchai Manapermpian.

His owner claims his rental contract was canceled at his last place of work, after he injured the owner. It appears a similar account was posted on EVAO's website. The camp where he last worked was ENP. Afterwards he had trouble finding work (labeled a 'problem elephant') and eventually he died due to illness, underfed, at home, and unemployable.
