Mable was seriously limping, and moved the leg and the foot in a curved movement for each step, and did not bend the leg. According to elephant trainer Franz Tisch, she had an accident, on a railway station where she stepped between two railes or something, permanently damaging her right frontleg. On the circus she was not used in the show, but used as carrying working elephant.

Mable was some time at Vejle zoo, before being transfered to the Safari park in Vejle.
