.
Comments / pictures Howard Yonkers Bary, son to Henry A. Bary from Russia, was a circus proprietor and an agent for circuses owned by others. He also imported some animals fro different shows, such as Ringling Brothers Barnum and Baileys Circus.
Bary brought with him six cornacks from Gangala-na-Bodio . Their names were Gumete, Kisango, Wayapi, Gumboio, Beulema, and Mobesi, the last named being the sergeant in charge. They appeared with their elephants for a few days during the opener in the Garden in 1936. However, immigration/entry problems were raised, and they were soon on their way back to Gangala.
