Buffalo Kloof Private Game Reserve is 20 000 hectares (50 000 acres) with no internal fencing, south of the town Makhanda, commonly known as Grahamstown, a town of about 70,000 people in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.

2020-10-19: Two elephants from Tembe in KwaZulu-Natal have arrived at Buffalo Kloof near Makhanda as part of a project to secure their big tusker genetics.
