2018-05-26: mahout Gajendran fatal attack by Masini. The elephant was brought to the temple at 10.50am by the Mahout and tied with a chain. In next 10 minutes, the elephant turned violent. The elephant pushed him on the ground and trampled him with its legs and crushed its Mahout, Gajendran, inside the temple around 11 am when the devotees were moving towards the sanctum sanctorum for worship. † Gajendran Died 2018-05-26, Samayapuram Mariamman temple, Trichy.
