Born 1977 in United Kingdom , daughter of animal trainer Sacha Houcke Jr. and artist Judith Benson .

When Sara was 14, she worked with elephants, camels, horses, rhinos and other exotic creatures, but she did not start working with tigers until 1998 when Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus representative saw her animal act in Germany.
