Mae is a prefix name, used in Burma, Laos and Thailand for female elephants, often for females who had babies. (Mae means mother)

2011-11: Mae Kongngeung is pregnant since November 2011. The elephant has been logging a lot together with male elephants during the last 2 years and the owner is not sure which male elephant mate with her. The elephant is totally blind on the right eye, due to a piercing branch during logging.

2012-11: Kongngeung arrived at the Elephant Village in November 2012.
