  1. 2017-04-20: mahout Jayan alias Murugan fatal attack by Sivasankaran. Sivasankaran, said to be 42 years old, turned violent when he was being taken out of Parassala Mahadeva temple, where he has been put up for the past 12 years, and gored second mahout Jayan alias Murugan to death at around 10.15am. † Jayan alias Murugan Died 2017-04-20, Parassala Mahadeva temple, Kerala.

2022-04-15: The High Court has directed that the government\'s order not to allow more escort elephants than existing ones must be complied with in festivals and other functions at temples under the Travancore Devaswom Board. A division bench comprising Justice Anil K Narendran and Justice PG Ajithkumar passed the order on a petition filed by Ambalapuzha native P Premakumar seeking action against the culprits in connection with the death of the elephant named Ambalapuzha Vijayakrishnan owned by the Devaswom Board.
